Alpha Wave Movement and Jim Cole "Bislama"
A collaborative effort from two fabulous talents.

Fans of of the work of Alpha Wave Movement will no doubt be very pleased to hear about the re-issue of their 2000 release, "Bislama", a collaborative effort with Jim Cole which has been out of print for some time. A blending of sequenced synth patterns, ambient waves, throat singing, eastern percussion and more, "Bislama" is a significant musical acheivement, a mixture of styles and sounds that is both inspired and inspiring. From the tidal tones of the opening track, through the shimmering cascades that play throughout "Offering", to the delicate repeated melodies of closing track "Samui", it's a brilliant disc ripe for discovery and exploration. Longtime supporters of AWM and Jim Cole who were lucky enough to pick up the disc in it's original format will be interested to note the addition of a sixteen minute improvisational collaboration between the pair recorded in 2002. The new track "Bali Twilight" is a beautiful piece filled with drifting vocals and subtle mysticism, an excellent addition to an already wonderful release.

If you're looking for something new to listen to, or if you're interested in rediscovering a classic release, I would suggest that the 2005 re-issue of "Bislama" is the disc for you. Highly recommended.
